The Zocks MCP Server lets the AI tools you already use — like Claude and ChatGPT — read your Zocks meeting intelligence on demand. You ask plain-language questions about a client or household, or your firm- and advisor-level conversation insights and the AI answers using your actual Zocks results.
Quick start:
Zocks admin enables MCP in Zocks
Your AI-tool admin adds the Zocks connector
And each user connects their own account and starts asking.

What is the Zocks MCP Server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI tools securely connect to outside data and services. When you connect Zocks, an AI tool can read your Zocks data on demand to answer questions about any client or household.
Read-only access. Claude can read your Zocks data to answer questions. It cannot create, edit, or delete anything in Zocks, and its outputs cannot be written back into Zocks.
How this differs from "Ask Anything"
Ask Anything, built into Zocks, is best for quick lookups and in-the-moment questions across all of your connected data.
Claude or ChatGPT via MCP is best for structured reports, deeper analysis, and polished deliverables such as tax summaries, annual letters, and sentiment trends.
Connecting your own AI system
Beyond Claude and ChatGPT, Zocks supports connecting proprietary or in-house AI systems via MCP. Setup is simple and straightforward — email [email protected] to get started.
Plans and availability
MCP is included on the Professional and Ultimate plans. On Essentials, you can start with a free Pro trial. You bring your own AI-tool subscription; Zocks adds no extra charge for MCP.
Which AI-tool plan should you use? Any Claude plan works to get started. For client data, Claude Teams or Enterprise is strongly recommended for the privacy protections. For solo and small firms, Teams is the practical entry point; Enterprise adds Zero Data Retention and a BAA.

Getting connected
Full instructions are in Connect to the Zocks MCP Server. In short:
Prerequisites: a Zocks admin enables access in the Zocks App Library, and each user has an active Zocks account.
Claude: a Claude admin adds the Zocks connector (Admin settings, then Connectors, then Browse). Each user then connects under Settings, then Connectors.
ChatGPT: enable Zocks under Workspace Settings, then Apps. Each user connects under Settings, then Apps. In a chat, type @Zocks.
Tip: in Claude, set frequently used Zocks tools to "Always allow" in Connector settings so you are not asked for approval on every prompt.
What you can build
The fastest way to a strong result is a Default Prompt — a pre-built template in the Zocks connector that retrieves the right data and returns a structured report. In Claude Chat, click the plus button, then Connectors, then Add from Zocks. The full list is in Zocks MCP in Claude — Default Prompts.
Prompt | What it does |
Tax Opportunities | Surfaces prioritized tax-planning opportunities, each cited to the meeting it came from. |
Evaluate Last Meeting | Scores your most recent meeting, or your own scorecard, with a compliance-flag section. |
Client Motivators | Profiles what drives a client — goals, fears, family dynamics — with suggested next actions. |
Topic Tracker | Follows one topic across every meeting, capturing decisions and open action items. |
Planning Topic Gaps | Maps meetings against ten core planning topics and flags what is missing. |
Sentiment Trend | Analyzes engagement over time and gives a retention-risk read. |
Annual Client Letter | Generates a personalized year-in-review letter in your voice (the one client-facing prompt). |
You can attach your own template, such as a letterhead or scorecard, to keep formatting consistent. Documents like tax returns are uploaded directly into Claude, not into Zocks, so they are governed by your Claude plan. Keeping one Claude Project per client or household helps you stay organized.
What data Claude can access
Scoped to Zocks only: transcripts, summaries, results, conversation insight and contact and household records. It does not reach into your CRM, portfolio, or planning tools.
Households are supported: ask by household name and Claude surfaces intelligence across all members.
Retrieved on demand: only what each question needs. It does not index your full history.
Your permissions apply: only meetings you can already see in Zocks.
Privacy and security
Zocks secures the connection through OAuth 2.0 and your existing permissions. The key point: once Claude retrieves data, it becomes part of your AI-tool conversation, and how that conversation is stored and whether it is used for training depends on your AI-tool plan. For client data, use Teams or Enterprise.
Claude plan | Training on your data | Retention and controls | BAA |
Enterprise | No, by default | Custom retention (minimum 30 days); Zero Data Retention available; SSO and audit logs | Available |
Teams | No, by default | Conversations stored; may be visible to workspace admins | No |
Personal (Free, Pro, Max) | May be used unless you opt out | Stored until you delete them | No |
Always review outputs. Grounding answers in your real data lowers the risk of hallucination, but no AI tool is perfect. Review before anything reaches a client or a compliance record.
Audit logging
Zocks logs MCP activity at the tool-call level. Each time an AI tool reads from Zocks, you can see which user triggered it, through which AI tool, when, and what data was accessed.
By design, the Zocks log does not capture what you asked, what the AI tool generated, or how long it is retained — that lives on the AI tool's side. For conversation-level records, Claude Enterprise provides its own audit logs.
Training and support
Zocks Academy: the "Connect Your AI Tool to the Zocks MCP Server" course.
Live enablement: guided onboarding plus a bi-weekly webinar series.
Support: [email protected] or the in-app chat.
Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Do I set this up in Zocks or in Claude?
Both, once. A Zocks admin enables it in Zocks; then you connect inside Claude or ChatGPT and sign in to authorize.
Claude asks me to approve every query. Can I stop that?
Set your common Zocks tools to "Always allow" in Connector settings.
Plans and cost
Do I pay extra for MCP?
No. It is included on Professional and Ultimate. You bring your own AI-tool subscription.
Do I need a paid Claude plan?
Any plan works to get started. Teams or Enterprise is recommended for client data.
What is best for a solo or small firm?
Claude Teams is the practical entry point for privacy protections; Enterprise for stricter requirements.
Does it work in Canada?
Yes.
Tools
Can I use Microsoft Copilot or Gemini?
Not yet. Both currently limit third-party MCP connectors, and we will integrate when they open up.
What about Perplexity or Grok?
Both are coming soon.
Can I connect our own AI system?
Yes. Email [email protected].
Can one AI tool use Zocks and another connector at the same time?
Yes. A connected AI tool can pull from multiple sources in the same query.
Data and access
Can Claude see all my clients at once?
No. It retrieves data on demand for the specific question you ask.
Does it reach into my CRM or portfolio tools?
No. It accesses your Zocks data only.
If my firm deletes transcripts quickly, is Claude still useful?
Yes. Raw transcripts are deleted after your retention window, but each meeting's AI summary and AI results stay queryable.
Can Claude change my Zocks data or save its output back?
No. The connection is read-only.
How are two clients with the same name handled?
Use the name as it appears in Zocks. If there are multiple matches, your AI tool asks you to confirm.
Security
Is my data used to train AI models?
On Teams and Enterprise, no, by default. On personal plans it may be, unless you opt out in Settings.
How is PII protected?
Through admin scoping controls, and choosing the right plan (Enterprise for a BAA), in the meantime we are working on a holistic PII management solution.
Does the AI tool see my Zocks password?
No. Authentication uses OAuth 2.0.
What happens if I disconnect?
Access is revoked immediately, and no new Zocks data can be retrieved afterward.
Compliance
Is there an audit log?
Yes. Every MCP tool call is logged — which user, which AI tool, when, and what data was accessed. It cannot see your prompt or the AI tool's output.
Is this approved by my broker-dealer?
That is your firm's and broker-dealer's decision. Zocks can provide documentation to support the review.
Does this replace Ask Anything?
No. They are complementary — Ask Anything for quick answers, Claude via MCP for deeper analysis and deliverables.
