Document Intelligence in Zocks is an AI-powered document processing and data extraction solution, purpose-built for the financial advisory workflow.
Instead of manually reviewing and entering information, Zocks automatically reads, summarizes, and extracts key details from client documents, saving advisors and admin teams hours of repetitive work.
Unlike generic document-reading tools, Zocks leverages its proven meeting and email templating framework, enabling firms to use their own approved, workflow-specific document summary templates. These templates can be mapped to export data into CRM objects, update contact records, or even trigger automated workflow steps, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless integration across systems.
What it does
With Document Intelligence, you can upload client-related files such as:

Zocks’ AI Assistant will then:
Auto-categorize the documents
Read and understand the content
Generate summaries based on document type
Extract key details (dates, amounts, entities, financial data, etc.)
Prepare updates for CRM, Financial Planning, or Portfolio systems
Please note that Document Intelligence is available exclusively in Zocks’ Ultimate subscription tier. However, customers on other plans can access the full Ultimate experience for 30 days through our Delta Trial, while continuing to pay only their current subscription rate.
How it works
Upload documents
Click Documents in the main navigation and select the Client whom the documents belong to. Drag and Drop or Browse the files you would like to process. If Box is integrated in the account files can be added directly from Box folders.
Up to 10 files can be uploaded in a package, and the individual files shouldn't be larger than 20 MB. The currently supported file extensions are PNG, JPEG and PDF.
AI processing
Once all files are uploaded, click Process Documents. Zocks automatically detects the document type for each uploaded file — e.g., tax return, payslip, contract — and applies the relevant Document Summary Template. Both Document Types and the Document Summary Templates can be customized.
Review and edit
You don't have to wait to have all items in a package to be processed. You can start working with the documents as soon as one of them is processd. View the AI-generated summary to the files, check extracted fields, and make edits before syncing to your other tools.
Sync and Export
The extracted document summary can be synced directly to CRM, Financial Planning, or Portfolio Manager systems. As usual with Zocks’ CRM sync, you can request a custom mapping if you would like to store document summaries in a specific object or field.
Update Contacts
Beyond summarization, the AI Assistant extracts important client details like salary information, risk scores, and business ownership, which can be used to update contact records or financial plans directly.
Ask your AI Assistant
Once a document has been processed, you can chat with the AI Assistant to:
Ask questions about its contents
Get clarifications or insights
Retrieve key values or numbers without reopening the document
For example:
“What’s the client’s annual income on the last payslip?”
“When does this contract expire?”
“What’s the total tax liability shown in the return?”
Historical view
Uploaded documents will be searchable based on the name of uploader and the contact, the date of the upload and the document type. Additionally, search in the file names is also supported.
The visibility of the documents can be limited based on the applied collaboration and retention settings.
Collaboration & retention settings
Similar to the collaboration settings for meetings and contacts, the sharing of documents can be set granularly. Although, the sharing of the documents are only allowed if contact sharing is enabled.
Admins can apply custom retention policies to the uploaded documents to make it suitable for their internal compliance requirements. It can restrict the traceability of the previously uploaded documents, or limit the actions which can be performed on the documents, such as changing the document type and asking questions from the AI Assistant.
Customization
You can configure Document Summary Templates for each document type similarly to Meeting or Email templates. Navigate to the Setup - Document Types to review the system defaults or create your own to tailor it for your firm's specific needs.
The 'Description' and the 'Document labels' help your AI assistant to associate the uploaded document with a type so these sections as used during the document categorization.
