Upload and process documents in the Zocks mobile app

Learn how to upload, scan, and process client documents with Document Intelligence in the Zocks mobile app.

Snap a photo of a client document, scan it, or pick a file from your phone, and Zocks reads it, identifies the document type, and creates a summary with the key details. You no longer need to wait until you're back at your desk to get documents into Zocks.

You can upload documents from three places in the app:

  • The Documents tab

  • A client's profile, under Contacts

  • The Share menu of any other app on your phone, such as Mail, Files, or Photos

How to upload documents from the mobile app

From the Documents tab

  1. Open the Documents tab and tap + in the top-right corner.

  2. In Select Client, search for and tap the client the documents belong to.

  3. Tap Select Document, then choose a source:

    • from Photos: pick images from your photo library

    • from Files: pick a file saved on your phone or in a cloud folder

    • Scan document: use your camera to scan a paper document

    • Take a photo: take a new picture of a document

  4. To add more files, tap Add Document and repeat.

  5. Wait while Zocks checks that each document is readable. Ready files show Ready for upload.

  6. Tap Process Documents.

From a client's profile

  1. Open the Contacts tab and tap the client.

  2. Go to the Documents tab on their profile and tap Add Document.

  3. Follow steps 3–6 above. The client is already selected for you.

From another app

  1. Open the document in another app, such as Mail, Files, or Photos.

  2. Tap the Share icon and choose Zocks.

  3. Select the client, then tap Process Documents.

Please note: The first time you upload, your phone asks for permission to access your photos, files, or camera. If you tap Don't Allow, you can turn access back on any time in your phone's Settings.

Tips for best results

  • Scan on a flat surface with good lighting.

  • Fit the whole page in the frame, and avoid shadows or glare.

  • Upload all documents for one client together, so they stay grouped under that client.

How to review processed documents

Find your documents

  • Documents tab: Recent Documents shows your latest uploads at the top. Swipe to browse them. All Documents below lists every upload, grouped by date and client. Tap the search icon to find a document by name.

  • Client profile: open the client and go to their Documents tab to see only their documents.

Read the summary

Tap a processed document to open its summary. The summary follows your firm's template for that document type, for example financial summary and financial goals.

Ask the AI Assistant

Tap Ask AI at the bottom of a summary to ask questions about the document, such as What is the total tax liability? or When does this contract expire?

Please note: Some features, such as syncing summaries to your CRM and setting up document templates, are only available in the Zocks desktop app.

Troubleshooting

What does "Readability concerns" mean?

The app detected that the image may be blurry or low quality. A sharper scan helps Zocks capture every detail correctly. Swipe left on the file and tap the delete icon to remove it, then scan or upload it again. To continue with the current file, tap Process anyway.

How do I upload a password-protected document?

Tap the file marked Password required for upload, enter the password, and tap Unlock. Once it's unlocked, tap Done and continue with your upload. Zocks can't process the file without the password.

What should I do if an upload fails?

Files that didn't upload show Upload failed. Tap Retry to upload them again. Files that were already processed are not affected.

Why was my document processed as a general document?

When Zocks can't detect the document type, it uses the General Documents template instead. You can still read the summary and ask the AI Assistant about it.

I can't select photos or use my camera. What should I do?

Zocks needs permission to access your photos, files, or camera. Go to your phone's Settings, find Zocks, and turn on access.

Why don't I see the upload option in the Documents tab?

Document Intelligence is part of the Ultimate plan. On other plans, the Documents tab shows an overview of the feature and a Book a demo button.
